Roll #236 — the only sharp frame in the whole roll

Film: Kodak Vision3 200T/5213, remjet removed (CyberPunk 320T repackaged version)
Developed & scanned: Li-lai Photo, 2024/10/11
Camera: Ricoh R1 30mm f3.5 / 24mm f8

By the time you're reading this, the Ricoh R1 has already been sent to Shangpin Camera Repair in Banqiao. The focus was off, and the back was leaking light — combined repair estimate: 3,600 NTD. If I'd known the focus was a problem before I bought it, I never would have. Classic case of making trouble for myself.

I've shot a lot of frames at this intersection — the red light runs long enough to be useful.

#2
Close focus test. Sorry — I looked at the lens.

#3
That red glow, commanding the whole frame.

#4
If this weren't out of focus, the colors would have been really nice.

#5
I'm convinced only McDonald's can pull off a drive-through. KFC and MOS can't.

#6
When exactly were all these utility pole stickers put up?

#7
Waiting for someone to get off work.

#8
Second roll on this Ricoh R1 and every single frame is still out of focus. Frustrating — because the camera design itself is genuinely nice.

#9
Before smartphones, there were no real-time bus arrival displays. Catching a bus was pure faith and patience — you had to believe it was coming.

#10
I loaded CyberPunk 320T for this roll specifically because I don't love it — just wanted to burn through something cheap to test the camera. Get the roll shot, get it developed, get an answer.

#11
Just noticed that the small 7-Eleven sign facing pedestrians on the sidewalk has gone slim. LED, probably.

#12
Red all over.

#13
Close focus test. I looked at the lens again. Sorry.

#14
Crossing the road to get something good to eat.

#15
Mid-crossing, I quickly shot a frame of the scooter crowd. Candid shot — I prefer that word to "street photography," which tends to dress up what's essentially taking pictures of people without asking.

#16
From dusk through to full dark — still soft, every single frame.

#17
Slightly less blurry here. I've always wondered whether Lightroom could replicate Kodak cinema film's red halation in post.

#18
One frame, inexplicably sharp. I was moved. Just the one though.

#19
Making math manipulatives for my son's class — A4 paper reinforced with cardboard backing. Somehow these ended up looking like Tien Gow tiles.

#20
The Ricoh R1 locked focus on the background, which is sharp. Small victories.

That's the full roll — Ricoh R1 30mm f3.5 / 24mm f8 with Kodak Vision3 200T/5213, remjet removed. Thanks for reading.
